Happy Everyday, Mary

 >> ... first grandchild ...

suffer the children unto me ... for we must stop fighting over things they can't see ... if not for slaves, whose to to say what is free ... so let the young speak to me

life is more than parable ... if not for lessons, how then do we tell ... between what is struggle and what is hell ... mount sermons may convince some all is well

feed mine bread and fish ... there's enough, and more, if they wish ... with no main course, everything is a side dish ... feed mine more than breaded fish

the water walking may drown ... all these passion stories get around ... pharisees and banks own the town ... scared of stories that I refuse to drown

my house is of The One ... only His will and my mom's be done ... Canaan weddings are never fun ... no gambling in the house of The One

I've now only got one week ... slapping the other for the sake of the first cheek ...                                     having doubts much too late to get weak ... I've only got til the end of this week

<sadness>

this Friday is, for me, no good ... roosters only crow twice in my neighborhood ... so I turned my flesh into snack food ... there's nothing about this Friday thats good

someone rolled the stone away ... only with my life was forced to pay ... just so Dad can stop turning souls away ... my Easter is now every Sunday

I CAN EXPLAIN #3

Each time I sit down to write what others call A Poem, I consider only the first line, or - in this case - a line someone gave me.

A line of inspiration is the greatest gift.

And so it was when I sat to write this.

The difference between you and many others is, I believe, if I said that I did not mean this as sacrilege when writing it, you would believe me.

So, what turned from a rhyme into a presumptuous, religiously inaccurate tome that might rise the ire of people I love, stuff like this makes me feel like an asshole savant - I know what I am saying if I remember what I was thinking when I wrote it.

.

I like you, Mary. Always have.

If you would rather not see stuff like this, please say so. I would more than understand. The only thing I value more than your opinion is your friendship.

You are one of the three most nicest, smartest women I have ever known.

I hope you have a Happy Birthday, Mary. I truly do.
